Executive Board meetings will be held on the 2nd Monday of the month, at 9:30 a.m. at the homes of the Burlington Garden Club members.
 
Burlington Garden Club meetings are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 1:15 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, 899 Dorset Street, South Burlington, VT (802-863-6764).

September 22, 2009 - Topic:  Environmental Awareness
 
"Designing With Native Plants" by Liz Krieg, Bethel, Vt.,  liz@fabulousplants.com
Liz is the owner of Rising Sun Greenhouses and Landscape Co. offering landscape consultation and design services.  A Vermont Certified Horticulturist and VT Master Gardener, she is an enthusiastic educator and dynamic lecturer known throughout New England and will show how to use native plants in the garden.

"Bouquets with Personality" by Lucinda Rooney, Middlebury, Vt.  www.lucindarooney.com
The author of Bouquets with Personality will demonstrate interesting designs for the home based on the personalities of people and flowers, with book signing to follow.

January 26, 2010 - Topic:  Youth Gardening
 
Luncheon Social at Noon - Please note earlier time
 
A Club tradition.  Enjoy a light luncheon provided by the Executive Board while visiting with your co-members.  There will be a short presentation by students and their leader from a school or youth organization that has participated in youth gardening.  Plus a display and opportunity to vote on Woodsy Owl posters created by the students.

February 23, 2010 - Topic:  Horticulture
 
"The Art of Gardening at the Shelburne Museum" by Jessica Gallas, Shelburne, Vt.
 
The Museum's head groundskeeper takes you through a year of gardening at the Museum, beginning with the designing of the art inspired gardeners to the finished results.

This landscape designer will present the design components at Montreal Botanic Gardens, U.S. Botanic Garden, Coastal Gardens of Maine, Meijer Garden and Chicago's Millenium Park.

April 27, 2010 - Topic:  Flower Arranging
 
"Dramatic, Different Floral Designs" by designers Virginia Allen, Betty Barnes, Elaine Dates and Joan Gates
 
Some of the types of design to be demonstrated will be:  Spatial Thrust, Multi-Rhythmic, Reflective, Mono-Botanical, Sculptural Form, Underwater, Transparency, Synergistic, Tapestry.
